Chaos Abomination is an easy record to just break out and go to town with, an effort that can be enjoyed both by the OSDM crowd and those newcomers weaned on more polished, audacious fare. A good album that yields little room for improvement, and a reason to keep tabs on Atomicide as a whole. Arguably safe, but consistent effort.

Invocation are similar to Atomicide but more restrained, and the recording on The Mastery of the Unseen is more cavernous and gloomier. Invocation focus on blinding speed and the vocals are mixed low, giving a haunting vibe. The repetitive, staccato guitars poke as the music charges forward.

The pessimism and discontent simmer here through two tough but emotionally-charged hardcore punk anthems. Tribulation Worksongs will be a series of EP releases—hence the Vol. The craftsmanship is embodied by the materials and process here. These were later hand-stamped on the front and back covers by artist Jacob Bannon, making each cover totally unique.

The labels of the vinyl were also hand-stamped before final assembly by the people at Deathwish. Limited-edition first pressing includes four colors: white, clear, transparent red, and black.

  5. Jan 22,  · In almost twelve years of existence, Chile’s Atomicide have released just two full lengths – ’s ‘Spreading the Cult’ and this, ‘Chaos Abomination’. That fact aside, the band have still been consistently active on the demo/split/EP front, the whole time “mining the depths of the death metal underground”.

With Chaos Abomination – the band’s second full-length opus – these guys have come up with one of the more fitting album titles because it’s a moniker which most certainly seems apt for this direct belligerent style that comes via the rattling holocaustic guitar sound of Deathbringer and that punishing drum racket of A. Prophaner.
